# Microsoft Teams

> Let your assistants read your Microsoft Teams channels and draft messages you send yourself. Posting always waits for your Send.

Many companies hand out work in Microsoft Teams. Connect it and your assistants can list the channels you can see, read the latest messages in one, and draft a reply or an update for a channel. A draft shows as a card in the StellarFirm chat: you change it if you want, then press **Send**. Nothing is posted in Teams until you do.

## At a glance

| | |
| --- | --- |
| Category | Chat |
| Connects with | Your Microsoft work or school sign-in |
| Access | Reads on its own; posting waits for your Send |
| Used by | The CEO in chat, and every assistant |

## What assistants can do

| Ability | How it runs |
| --- | --- |
| List the teams and channels you can see | Reads on its own |
| Read the latest messages in one channel | Reads on its own |
| Draft a message for a channel | Shows a card; you press Send |
| Post a message without you | Never |

## Setup

1. Open [Integrations](https://stellarfirm.ai/app/integrations) in StellarFirm and pick **Microsoft Teams**.
2. Sign in with your Microsoft work or school account and accept the permissions it asks for.
3. If your organisation limits which apps people may approve, ask your Microsoft administrator to approve StellarFirm once. Reading channel messages needs that approval in most organisations.

The same Microsoft sign-in also covers [Outlook](/docs/integrations/outlook) mail and calendars when you allow them.

## Permissions

- Your assistants see only the teams and channels your own account can open.
- A drafted message is a card in the chat. It goes to Teams only when you press **Send**, and you can change it first.
- Remove the connection under Integrations, or remove StellarFirm from your Microsoft account's app permissions, whenever you want to cut access.

## Good to know

- Name the team and channel in your message. If the assistant is not sure which channel you mean, it lists them first.
- Everything that sends, deploys, charges, publishes, or creates waits for your Approve, wherever you hand the work over. See [approvals](/docs/ceo/approvals).
- [Delegate work](/docs/ceo/delegate-work) compares every place you can hand work to your assistants.

## Prompts to try

```prompt title="Catch up on a channel"
Read the last day of messages in the [team] / [channel] channel in Teams and give me five lines on what was asked and who is waiting on whom.
```

```prompt title="Brief from a Teams thread"
Coder, read what [name] asked for in the [channel] channel in Teams. In [repository], make the change, run the tests, and open a pull request for review once I Approve. Then draft a two-line reply in that channel for me to send.
```
